The Harrogate Writers’ Circle, founded in 1951, is a group of people who wish to improve their writing skill in a variety of disciplines, including poetry and all forms of prose. We are not a creative writing class, but give mutual encouragement and constructive criticism (if desired) to fellow members. We are a very friendly group with a wide diversity of experience and writing skills from those beginning to take those first steps towards being published, to established authors. Prospective members and visitors are always welcome to attend a meeting to see if the Circle is a fit to their requirements.
The Circle has monthly Manuscript Evenings where members read out some of their work. We also have speakers on writing-related topics, and hold several writing competitions throughout the year.
The Circle meets every second Wednesday (except August and Christmas) at Community House, 46 East Parade, Harrogate at 7.30 pm, finishing at 9.30 pm.
